We are aiming to provided services and support for Black communities highlighted through the urgent needs during Covid19 and support Black Community Organisations to develop capacity and become sustainable.
Set up as a collaboration to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Asha-Deep project supports wellbeing and social prescribing for the Asian communities in Northamptonshire. Funded by The National Lottery and Borough Council of Wellingborough, Asha-Deep provides services such as: food, befriending calls, support for the hospitalised and bereaved and accessible COVID-19 guidance.
Asha-Deep also offers well-developed Zoom programmes to keep members of the community active and connected to manage loneliness and isolation effectively.
Community Watch is a social action programme which started in 2018 and aims to prevent crime and fear of crime. Community and volunteer-led, the programme supports recruits and trains volunteers in neighbourhoods to co-ordinate Street Watch and Neighbourhood Watch schemes and works with councils and other agencies to improve neighbourhoods by organising clean-ups and enabling people to get to know their neighbours.
