Community Champions
The Community Champions project aims to accelerate the offering of helpful advice, guidance and vaccination information to the community to ensure that they remain safe. Community champions provide practical help to enable IT access, access to food and other provisions as well as encouraging people to take part in events and activities that contribute positively to physical and mental wellbeing.
Northamptonshire Black Communities Together
Black Communities Together is aimed at bringing together Black Community Organisations to respond to the needs of Black communities across Northamptonshire. We are aiming to provided services and support for Black communities highlighted through the urgent needs during Covid19 and support Black Community Organisations to develop capacity and become sustainable.
Asha Deep
Set up as a collaboration to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Asha-Deep project supports wellbeing and social prescribing for the Asian communities in Northamptonshire. Funded by The National Lottery and Borough Council of Wellingborough, Asha-Deep provides services such as: food, befriending calls, support for the hospitalised and bereaved and accessible COVID-19 guidance.
Asha-Deep also offers well-developed Zoom programmes to keep members of the community active and connected to manage loneliness and isolation effectively.
Community Watch
Community Watch is a social action programme which started in 2018 and aims to prevent crime and fear of crime. Community and volunteer-led, the programme supports recruits and trains volunteers in neighbourhoods to co-ordinate Street Watch and Neighbourhood Watch schemes and works with councils and other agencies to improve neighbourhoods by organising clean-ups and enabling people to get to know their neighbours.
